the gaylander is for sale and ive spotted a nearly mint 95 tdi disco input from anyone who has one would be great common faults etc

Sunroofs leaking has been main issue for us even though we checked it over when purchased a few yrs ago it still happened later, and hiding rust, ie back seat belts under the carpet

Weve had welding on ours but then ours has been a hardworker/offroader, oh and the obligatory oil leaks

otherwise ask me after next months MOT lol

very happy with mine, rust is the biggie check rear floor inner wings front and back and sills
mechanically they are easy to work on and bits are cheap, if its a 3.9v8 watch for cracked blocks/liners if its a 300tdi make sure cambelt has been done

Es is top spec mostly with leather and aircon, heated front screen ect... but not always!!! my opinion manuals are better and more economical than autos but thats just my opinion

I think they're great motor- easiest thing i've ever had to work on anyway (though i've owned my fair shair of ****e over the years..) So yep- go for it! Have a poke around the light-boxes/ front panel where it bolts to chassis, either side of the rad) too all three i've had needed work there.. trouble with them i've found is you dont really know how much rust you've bought till you get it home and take it to bits! if there's obvious signs of rot in the door pillars be prepared to find more throughout the shell. Dont be put off by signs of welding (as long as its bin done right) as by now very few disco 1's have escaped the torch! Bets of luck!
