Hello!
I find to my project (110STW) short bellhouse R380, but can somebody tell to me;
-Where Land Rover was used this gearboxes? I have read, that if is building to tdi 200 engine and want change LT77 to R380. Is this box never put to new car? Is it something after built model?

I need short bellhouse because engine is too front...as between engine and bulkhead can be put about 2 cylinder more,,,, ;-)

when 300 tdi and r380 came out ,engine, gear box etc disco and defender versions were made to be as near identical as possible ,so engine in defender was fitted at the front like a disco,to make parts compatible and fewer types needed to produce and hold on stock ,rather than carrying having lt77s still been built for spares or warranty, the short bell housing r380 was produced as it could obviously be built with the current production,200tdis were all produced with lt77s 56a prefix, short bell housing type are rare but parts can be bought to change std r380 in to short bell housing type not cheap though,bell housing is shorter than a defender lt77 bell housing as rear extension case on an r380 is longer than lt77 as rev is in there as well as 5th ,so boxes are of equall length
