My 2.5td auto looks to be getting c15mpg

It's hard to tell exactly as I'm going on where the fuel needle was before I filled up and when it got back to same level as well, but roughly 15mpg

What can be causing this?

Dont know if its linked, but the car had trouble starting yesterday and I suspect it was maybe down to not a lot of fuel?

Theres also a leak somewhere from the centre of the car as theres stains on the driveway but I do not think its fuel

Could it be down to the auto gear box not changing up gear quick enough?

I've always suspected it sticks in lower gears for too long

Thanks

Basically you are pssing into the wind unless you go full tank to full tank and log the miles covered, guessing is just a waste of everyones time.

4 or 5 cylinder?
Nah I know it's a guesstimate but it wont be far off that

How reliable are the fuel gauges?

Since I put more diesel in it's not failed to start, could maybe have had the problems starting because there was less fuel in than the gauge said?

When i stop laughing, I might be able to compose myself enough to answer the question  :D

(That's a JOKE BTW - it's a friggin LR !! - for fuel gauge and accuracy, think Military Intelligence )

What size of tyres do you have? after a longer run touch the wheels all around and the handbrake drum and if you find one too hot that's the problem
