Ive had the “tratter” for a few weeks now, its a work runabout so just been used now and again - although I’ve been getting in it instead of my hilux, (for short journeys) as I really like driving it - despite the terrible seating position, no radio.... slow...guzzles fuel... smells...tears your trousers when getting out... rattles...squeaks...badly built...bits hanging off...etc etc
I can forgive these things but unfortunately I have knee issues and the stiff clutch combined with the unusual seating angle, is causing me pain! - so I have ordered a redbooster clutch servo device. It’s in the garage now being fitted - will report back on how it is !

Very interested to see how this works for you as I to have bad knees and the clutch puts me off driving it. I have all the bits (apart from the actual gearbox) to convert to auto but I am holding off as much as possible!

Been looking at a red booster aswell, again for fit and forget no hassle

What do you get in the red booster kit?

To be honest I’m not sure what it comes with - I got the box delivered and dropped it to the local garage. I will have a good look and take some photos when I get the vehicle back.
I love an automatic! my main vehicle is one, think a defender would be great as an auto... if the engine had a bit more power perhaps!
Will report my findings soon...

Okay cool look forward to it, I am very seriously considering this except I would fit it myself

This looks like a really good solution to the problem SWMBO has driving my D2.
It looks really straight forward to install, and once myMOT is sorted might well be my next project.
Is the vacuum hose for the servo just teed from the brake servo?

Yep - have a look through my thread above. :)

Thanks- I have studied it already!
I think I understand how it all works together, although from the ‘slave’ side of the hydraulics, do you go to the clutch slave valve directly, join to the existing pipe, or something else?
Also, how do you fill and bleed the slave side? I guess I could just look at the instructions

It's a simple system - the servo goes into the circuit between the master and slave, and you bleed it as if it were not there - just using the bleed nipple on the slave ..... easy peasy - tedious maybe, but certainly not difficult.
