Oops,, here we go! Yet another LR forum making new members feel unwelcome :frusty:
I can see now why freely2addiction.com was started.....

There was a comment on here about freely2addiction.com and (it could of been a admin or mod) saying why open a new LR site,,, why not all come over here and expand this one.....
Well if this is how you treat new members I think I'll pass

You need hippo skin on here :D but you have paid through the nose for that service , and that has been stated ! :)

Let's put it this way I got quoted a lot more from stealers....

I dont like to see people getting ripped off by garages , we have all been there at some point , I have learnt to service mine , I dont now every thing thats why I like L Z , eg engine oil , oil filter , air filter , fuel filter , done for £50 , diy or shop around regards ian

Definitely +1

Slaneydore, it may be tough medicine, but if someone with little knowledge/experience of cars was to sign up and get this response, they would know in fuiture that they can probably have a week in Benidorm with the savings they'll make in future servicing costs!

People on here are (almost always!) genuine and say what they honestly believe from their experience with Landies - more than you can say about most garages!

I cant see how any of the replies have been made to make you feel unwelcome, perhaps you could let me know if I've missed something,

perhaps we all should have said, brilliant deal you got there mate, then after you'd payed the same again on another service, and found out from others it was a bit steep, you'd think, that bunch of w****** on landyzone could of told me

I for one am sorry if you were made to feel unwelcome, but you did put yourself up there to be shot at. Especially the £50 tip comment:eek:
And loading up that invoice, when we all have experience of what we are prepared to pay for spares, did you not think we would have an opinion?

You really should go back and challenge them on the VAT charge on the MOT if only to stop them conning someone else, but I suppose after the size of your tip, claiming back a tenner is hardy worthwhile.

It was me that started it about too many forums. We have a growing population of Freelander 2's on ere and yer welcome to join in. Don't condemn us or LZ due to a few duff freds. Give it time and you'll see we don't take ourselves too seriously and have a sense of humour. Proof of this is letting beasty become a mod.

Lot's of peeps on ere run their heaps on a lower budget so look out for cheaper service/repairs. That doesn't mean they cut corners and avoid safety. It's just older cars don't always warranty "as new" service prices. Hence we may be surprised when we see higher prices. Many on ere think a tip runs in the 2:30 at haydock. :pound:

Give it a bit of time. If you do choose to leave can you take the tratterers with yer? :)
