Hi everyone,
(New member)

just recently brought a good condition, 2013 Freelander 2 and missing the 84000 service (just slightly over +5000). Can anyone give me an approximate on how much in general the inspection/ service will cost.

Many thanks

I'm guessing it's the timing belt service that is overdue.
Prices vary depending on garage and location, but if you're quoted more than £350 for the timing belt replacement, then look elsewhere. It's a 2 hour job, with £100 for the timing belt kit, which should include the water pump.
It's sensible to have all the fluids changed at the same time, which will reduce the chance of issues later on.

Don't over pay for work, but be aware that there are many cowboys out there, more than happy to take your money, but do a shoddy job in exchange.

Hi Nodge68,

many thanks for the estimate and warning, I’ll keep that in mind when approaching the garages.
