The Serpentine belt is so easy to change, taking it to a mechanic is a waste of money. When I 1st looked at it I said wow! All the pulleys and the way the belt winds through the front of the engine looked scary. I went to autozone.com and the instructions mentioned something about a lift and a wooden block among other things. I swallowed my spit, opened the hood and told myself, it's has to be easier than that. I removed the top belt cover and then the top fan cover. I noticed the pulley closest to the battery could be moved with the proper leverage. Grabbed a long open end wrench, placed one side on top of the blot on one end of the pulley and the other underneath the wheel on the other. I lifted upward and removed the belt. I pulled the belt off the other pulleys and snaked the rest of the belt out the engine. I took the new belt and snaked it back through the engine, used the wrench as leverage and ended with putting the belt over the alternator lastly. Replaced the two covers, started the engine and it sounded like a kitten. The ticking noise is finally gone! I love my Landrover!!
