Help needed urgently in the form of a sync mate, rovacom novacom testbook or whatever toget my rangey re synchronised to the ecu

Hi all, I have a 4.6 thor engined p38 that has lost its sync between the becm and the ecu, I could buy a sync mate for £150 but unfortunately I am a disabled ex serviceman and after spending £150 getting the becm unlocked and the key refurbished I just dont have that kind of money spare, so either looking to borrow one , buy used or find a kind soul with any of the diagnostic kit to spare me some time. As once the car starts I want the passive immobilisor to be disabled.
The other thing I would like if anyone can help is any info regarding all the places to check for vulnerable wiring such as under the relays in the fusebox as I would love a definitive check list to work through to stop future immobilisor problems.
cheers in advance for any assistance anyone can offer
Rick

I am in leicestershire , sorry I thought it came up when I posted a thread like yours says location london

Typical yesterday we had one in a field up near you-look on lzir map for red circle and a spark

My key broke and whilst I was trying to get the key repaired I changed the vehicle battery ax it was flat , when I tried the car it wouldnt turn over and came up with keycode lockout, I searched the web and found a company in hemel Hempstead who told me to bring the becm and key and sorted it while I waited.
When I got ba k I plugged the becm in and it started straight away , unfortunately now it has lost its code to the ecu so will turn and not start, I phoned the company that did the becm but they said it would be 80 quid to do the becm again and told me I need a sync mate.
The eka code apparently was 103 when they looked at the becm, but they changed it to a 4 digit becm but that doesnt work either , so I am stuck with no transport and not a lot of money hence my post on here.

Sadly, you have been ripped off.
The EKA code is always 4 digits, you cannot just swap EKA codes or BECM's.

If your BECM is original, a dealer will give you the EKA code free, maybe on the telephone if you explain your situation.

Hopefully someone nearby will help out with a re-sync.

They gave me a printout with a new Elaine code but it doesn't work either , I have also tried my original one to no avail ..., my becm is not alarmed though as the central locking works fine it is just the ecu that isn't coding with the becm, so I just desperately need a sync mate or whatever to re sync it as like I said I am disabled and need my car desperately so if anyone can help please get in touch to save me having to borrow the money to buy one
Thank you
Rick

You still need to add your lo0cation to your signature, a little more specific than a whole county would also help.

I put leicestershire as I live in the county close to the motorway network also the a46 and a47, as such I am easily accessible to Warwickshire , Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire , Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire as well of course to anywhere in leicestershire and will obviously happily cover anyone's expenses who could help . So, if you are in any of these areas and have a sun mate for a Thor engine or any other diagnostic kit to enable my car to start please get in touch
Rick

I'll be driving through either Leicestershire or Warwickshire on Saturday but I don't have the Thor module on my Nanocom. Does anyone know if the GEMS security learn feature on the Nanocom will work on a Thor engine? Won't be able to stay long as I'm on my way to a do with the family but I can make a quick detour if the GEMS module will work.

Gems & Thor are different:(

Bugger.

As they gave you the wrong EKA code can you not get them to fix it?

Shouldn't keep losing synch unless something like the RF unit is being tricked or the BECM is losing its marbles. Rick-the-Pick is the man to help if the latter is the case.

Only other thing I can think of is if someone in Bucks has the Thor module I could borrow their Nanocom on my way up and drop it off again on Sunday.

PM me your address. If it isn't far off my track I might be able to stop by and see what I can read. Might help.

If the central locking works it's not the EKA code or the key code that is wrong it's the security sync ECM to BECM.

guys ive got a thor nanocom but i will be buggered if i can remember how to use it,sold the p38 about 12 months ago and now have a l322,so if someone knows how to help this guy out by using my nanocom i can meet you there,im working friday and saturday mornings so there out tho.

op where abouts in leicestershire exactly are you

Mozz might be able to talk you through it. Mine's an oil burner so never tried a petrol. IIRC, I think there's a screen somewhere with a button called Security Learn.
