They're going on on monday :)

don'e feck all! But if I can get the engine mounted properly I can make some decent progress :D gearbox mounts need welding in then I can mount the seat box and chop up the centre so the LT230 will fit as well as modify it for the new hand brake

Gonna blitz it anyway and if I can I'll be hooking up the rad thinking if I can make it fit I'll chop into the inner wing and slide the rad across as a temporary fix til I get a new one

Just want to be able to take it for a spin!

Oi Doc this is a V8 Chevy 6ltr Edelbrock headers. 4pot Holley Carb no eggsauces and it was burbling away lovely. well until Newly painted chasis rails got a bit warm . All this in a car that weighs less than a tonne.

It did sound nice.. :D

Ok just to expand a little on the work done on monday

We got the engine mounts welded in, the gearbox mounts welded in and that was it but…….

More problems have arisen, the drivers manifold now fouls on the accelerator linkage so thats getting hacked off next time I'm round, replacing it with a big foot pedal then routing some pulleys round in order to get it to work properly, the engine has been raised up fully so its as high as I can get it while being able to close the bonnet, this also means I can access the crank pulley for timing and it raises the sump away from the danger zone!

So this brings my to do list down to a more manageable level, the main job left now is simply to weld in a new hand brake mount but I wont be doing that til the seat box is modded and ready to sit in place, gearbox tunnel will be made up once I get that in too and the rad and wings will go back on too as soon as I chop off the throttle linkage.

One major flaw in my plan of raising everything up to give more under carriage clearance is that the prop angle has now increased to about 20* which is ok but too high for my liking (it has increased length too though) so the way I'm doing it now is mini prop and a CV flange either side to give me plenty of working angle

Shiny shiny :D

Look at this for a swirl pot ;) only need to get a couple of extra connectors then it'll be hooked up to the fuel lines. Probably going to blank one of them as well as I don't need one of the outlets :)

Series is coming home to mine in a few weeks as well  means I'l actually be able to work on it every day!

I don't have any in my tank either so swirl pots the answer, tempted to pick up a smaller inline fuel pump instead of modding the in tank one to fit. Would make life a bit easier for me, and it'll look the part too sat on me bulkhead :D

Brought home 90% of the parts today, only parts left there are a prop shaft and some seats.

The rest; Series, roof, rear tub panels and my two spare gearboxes will be coming back to mine soon enough. Thinking next week at earliest if not the one after, looking forward to being able to finish this off and now that I'm going to be back at uni I'll be roping in one of the technicians to help me out modding the radiator and new slam panel fully so I can do it on the cheap ;)

That pic there Doc is cool :D and the way it is on the fence is so mental image of you. With your pic of you by that jute box well no need to say more about the facial resemblance . That so far is you best avatar, much better than your teddy:rolleyes::p

Cheers :p

Far better than the bear I'll give you that ;) I think this one shall stay for a while :D the whole picture just cheers me up

Agree with your last
It has a kind of oh well WTF attitude, tomorrow is another day:D

Definitely :) exactly the kind of attitude I've got at the minute :p

Plus I love sloths :D anyway as a mini update as I suppose I'd probably better put some semi technical **** down for one

Another new radiator is coming my way :) 2" cores, outlets on the correct side so as not to foul the steering arm.

Prop shaft is completed and I now need to make up some CV joint spacers or fit series half shaft UJ's to the ends…..leaning towards the CV option at the minute from a durability perspective
