Series 3 steering wheel removal

So I want to paint my series 3 steering wheel as it is seriously worn but none of my sockets are big enough to fit over the nut, can someone please tell me what size it is so I can go buy one?

yep, get a steel rule and measure it , go fer 1mm over to alow fer bashed corners

usually the same size as the wheel nuts I think....

try the wheel nut spanner to remove...

ps you'll also need a puller.... its stuck on there good :crazy_driver:

tap the head of the nut quite hard before its undone. shocks the thread and splines loose

i haven't had problems with getting my steering wheel off, i just undid the bolt and it came off.

My mate has an ex military. When we took the boss off to get at the nut inside the boss was written "f**k off you nosey C**t". Laugh a minute those army lads.

One thing I would suggest is to loosen the nut off but not take it off completely. The first time I took mine off it needed a bit of force and when it broke free it flew off the shaft and smacked me across the nose.
