hi i have just brought my first car im 17 its a 1978 series 3 lr 200 tdi without the turbo
got it home wondering if any one has any ideas on the following

roof lining its a county station wagon and the inside of the roof is disgusting wanted to bring it back to life is carpet the best?

the floor i want to cover the front feet space on the floor while covering the center part where the gear levers are etc as they all have holes around them where you can see straight through the floor to the road.

also i know there is no point but how easy is it to wire up a basic sound system
cheers tom

Well, it is a series, maybe you should get a disco instead, got everything you need all ready.
You'll probably find the head lining will fall apart if you rub too hard, mine did, I ended up making a new one using old as a pattern.

I have a carpet piece over the gearstick section with a gaiter and then thick rubber mats on the floor that are fitted to the cab, you can purchase carpet lining kits for the bulkhead but its liable to get wet and hold in corrosion. people have shortened defender roof linings to fit and you can buy stereo cages that screw to the dash

paddocks do a carpet set for a series floor for £60
also with the roof, i would either pull the whole lining out and paint the roof or pull it out and use some contact adhesive to glue a new carpet to the roof as carpet is a good sound insulator especially if you use underlay too.
