there was a coper, but there is no seat for the small steel washer! it's just a hole....There should be special copper washers in there , it’s not a hot spot

Steel washer just sits in the bottom of the hole, under the tip of the injector.there was a coper, but there is no seat for the small steel washer! it's just a hole....

Seeing that you are West Midlands based Adrian, was it Lucas at Plume Street where you worked ?if you have a long established diesel fuel injection specialist nearby i would ask them to test injectors AND if they can supply a top hat. When I worked for Lucas we always kept them in stock. The injetros in land rover are not the easiest to get working properly during reconditioning, even when relatively new we used to end up scrapping a lot of injector nozzles and we had facility to re-cut the nozzle seats and precision grind the needle seat
the spare set has been test by CJ Diesel and deemed ok. looks like I 'll have to rake the head of now, shroud are very tight, so need to tap from the other side. Will give a me a chance to check other stuff and change gasket and valve seals I guess...if you have a long established diesel fuel injection specialist nearby i would ask them to test injectors AND if they can supply a top hat.
