Hi can anyone help with this question, I have just checked the timing as landy is running but takes a lot of heating to start,I noticed two pictures on line of the skew gear and they have the master spline at 20 degs , and mine is set at 180 degs further on meaning I have the female spline at 20 degs, car starts and runs, struggles to start and bit of white smoke, just wondering having the skew gear out by 180 degs cause any problems or cause my problems
Looking forward to your replies and thanks in advance

Report back please.

Remember the cam rotates at half the speed of the crank, so piston 1 is at top dead centre twice for each rotation of the cam and skew gear.
