Series 3 2.25 Fuel Line Issue

Hey folks,

I managed to get my old Series 3, 2.25 petrol running again today for the first time in a while. I noticed this piece of flexi hose (just above the rocker cover) is ****ing fuel in both directions though

Is this supposed to be there or is this a bodge? If the latter, could anyone find me the part number for the real pipe?

Looks like a fuel cut off solenoid/tap some one has fitted.
Utterly pointless unless it's hidden under the seatbox somewhere.
I would remove it/fix it before it burns to the ground.

Agreed - remove it and run a new piece from the fuel pump to the carb via a filter.
