newham electronics ltd doesn't seem to be around anymore, pity, guess they could have been taken over, although there is a tv repair shop called newham electronics in barking and some other company is using 209a plashet rd

The internal construction of the charger is rather poor, neglecting the basic principles of making a proper soldered joint.

Instead of a wire being fed through a solder tag & folded over to then be soldered, many joints were just straight wires held there by the solder itself. Some of these joints were in fact "dry joints".

There is a pot inside that can be set to adjust a SCR that cuts the charge voltage when the required voltage is reached.

I'll nip down the workshop and check them out tomorrow, about time I got out and about anyway

ooops, it wernt the coil ….. i cleaned the faces of the points with a bit of 600g wet and dry, fired up first time :D

looks a cracker, is the arctic heater fully operational, they should have been standard on landies :D

its getting more complicated as its not only "winterised" but its also "tropicalised" also, plus the rear axle has been re-placed with a salaisbury axle, and there is no anti roll bar !!….

The anti-roll bar was not originally a factory fit & the mod was introduced in Dec 1973. Tropicalised just means the wood has been treated to resist the activity of wood boring insects eg termites etc
