Have replaced the leafs with parabolics in my 2a swb and now noticed the gearstick grommett wont fit because the grearbox seems off centred compared to the opening it is as though the gearbox has moved to the left

Is this because of the spring changeover or some other issue
Visual inspection of the gearbox and engine mounts seem ok
help appreciated

its quite common for grommets to be a poor fit because box isnt central ,which is down to box mounts, eng mounts, floor ,tunnel etc sometimes a bit on each misalignment

looking at that i'm going to guess you have the "feet" to your gearbox mounts on the wrong sides

they are two different sizes and are often swapped by mistake as at a casual glance they appear identical, unbolt them and swap them around

Don't know what you've changed putting on paras for the box to move but as James says, loosen, prop and retighten. Couldn't get a decent alinement when I put my 200 in so used a diesel (rectanglar) rubber mount on one side and a petrol (round) mount on the other.

Still not quite perfect but close enough for it to drop way down the priority list :)
