hi guys .just been changing oil in gear box on my series 2a . took out the drain plug and found two small pieces of what looks like sprung steel . they are about 1 inch long and about half an inch wide with a bit of a curl on one end and a fold on the other end . the curled parts mate up quite well together so it looks like they used to be one piece . dose anybody have any idea as to what they may be ? and is it a major big problem ? cheers guys . hope some one can help . dont mind getting my hands dirty to try and fix it myself . just need to know what it is really .

There not to bad to do once the box is out, no special tools. Just pull the bellhousing off and the 3rd 4th syncro is at the front. fit 3 new springs and put it back together, or rebuild the whole box. There are plenty of threads on here regards rebuilding a box.
