I have a 1967 series 2a 2.25 diesel it use's alot of oil and kicks out blue smoke when ticking over but once traveling along 99% of smoke disappears,anybody no what the likely cause's and remidies are?

piston rings and valve seals will need doing! But once you have got the head off you will probably decide it needs reboring which will meen new pistons.

and while yu are there, yu mite as well change the bearings, and then you think "bugger it - mite as well change the injun"

or "bollix to that - its only smoke" and worry about all the other faults.

They did that when they were brand new, don't worry about it.
