New spring mount and more rot to deal with its comong on .hoping to paint it this week and get the axels fitted

There's certainly some interesting err "welding" for lack of a better description gone on their.

Have you heard of cold metal stitching ?? - well, I think that might be "luke warm" metal stitching o_O- its probably got just about enough strength, but it looks appalling... and to think the Japs used to get criticised for their "pigeon dropping" welding on bike frames in the 70's:rolleyes:

Hi there suzuki didn't do much better in the late 90s as testament to my bike I got a bandit mk1 1286cc bad boy thing!!! And I love it just like my landy hahaha

Haha yeah there is no way I mistook the bottom one for your work. Infinitely better :)
if a jobs worth doing its worth doing right .it takes time and pactiance but well worth it and the satisfacton we get from doing it is even better :) cheers for all replys guys i do read them all
 
i going to hopefully weld the hanger in tomoz after i cut the rotton part out of the chassis and replace it with new steel then weld the fresh spring mount in .i have already made the top of the spring mount out of 6 mm steel so i know its strong :)

used to be a biker myself - a full power V Max - love the thing. My health is too bad now,:( unfortunately, but still love bikes:)
 
looking good - but you appear to have "forgotten" a bit :D - now, granted, my eyesight has its issues, but where is the rear cross member :confused: ?
 
hahaha well spotted there is also an outrigger to replace .we had some issus with a leaky roof on workshop an the chassis was starting to rust so we decided to put a coat of paint on.the rear bumper will be fitted when we line the rear tub up .the rear end has been rebuilt completly all rot cut out .
