Series 2 frame registration numbers

diffs dont have numbers the axle case does it has info on axle type and suffix which is related to age ie a suffix b is the same type of axle and fitment but with a few modifications to suffix a,so an axle number could tell you vehicle type and roughly age

Series 2 diffs have type number and date.
"There is also a stamped number on the outer circumference of the differential unit for the Series Land Rover. There is a four or five digit serial for the differential unit, and a date.....such as 10T64, or 10 64. The date is usually at the top of the differential unit, so between 10 and 2 when viewed as a clock face."
