Hi everyone. Haven't been on here for a while as I now have 3 series and lightweight project on the go at once. The latest addition is a lovely and rather original 79 109 station wagon that's driving ok actually and just needs some tlc.
Anyway, it has some 'lurching' when accelerating in 1st or second so was just having a nosey underneath and noticed what is definitely not a Salisbury axle.
I think it has an earlier series 2 lwb axle...def not sailsbury...Resembles swb standard axle with strengthening sections placed on it. Some online photos of early 109s shows same back axle.
Spotted when googling an axle on YouTube from a series 2 109 and looked the same?
Does anybody know if it is and if so any big disadvantages etc?
Oh and if you know much about this lurching business let me know...I look like I need L plates!
Much appreciated
