Series 109 6 cylinder diesel

I'm still debating whether to pick this up or not. It's a 6 cylinder diesel, not a jeep conversion, a landy one.
5 door, county-like body. Looks quite nice, quite tidy. What do you guys think of it? it's selling for about 1400 quid in pounds, 2000 euros. You guys think it's worth it? also, this is a Santana one, does that mean i am getting Land Rover or some spanish crap? It looks like a landy, probably drives like one too. What do you guys think? The most important question i have, is are the chassis's the same to series 3's? or are they redesigned? i don't know much about these...

What I learned in the german blacklandy board a lot of parts are interchangable and parts are available in spain as well.
If this car were in Austria it would be on my list.
 
This car it's been modyfied at some point because get parts from diferent years Santana models. The bulkhead and windscreen are from mid 80's and are not so good a s series III Land Rover, be sure it's no rust especially on the windscreen (so dificult to get a clean one) and feet (original series III replacement parts needs to be adapted). Front grille and bonnet are from 1978-79, after this Santana used square lights, long bonnet (like Defender) and metal grille like Satage One for 1980-1981 and complete plastic front with round lights again until the end of series III.

The chasis it's so similar to the rest of series and it should get two diesel tanks, overdrive fitted and if it's from 1980 power steering.

Drives like other series but the extra power of the engine (it gets a bit more than 90 cv) let you travel a bit easyer than the old 2 1/4 diesel, especially uphill.

First of all I'm going top burst your little bubble, Spanish landys weren't crap, the idiots just put the steering wheel on the wrong side.
They also improved the 2 1/4 motor and put parabolic's as standard. They also built a gearbox so good that the English nicked it.
The photo is of a 109 sometimes called a Cazorla. The English and Spanish chassis parts are interchangeable,
The photo looks more like an early 2500 n/a as it has a pull to stop instead of a solinoid.
 
I presume to the left of the picture, you can see two silver injector pipes running out of shot to the left.

I'm not in the mood today to make a rare Spanish car with French papers roadlegal here in Austria. Better find an old Series 2 with Austrian paperwork and rebuild it from scratch.

Or the best would be, there are rumours about a 106 series one lhd first owner from new still regularly on the street and with MOT. An other enthusiast knows where it is but keeps his secret.
