Hi i have a 88 inch series 1 with a 2.2 bmc engine the engine parts are getting hard to get hold of so I'm thinking of fitting a 2,25 d land rover engine , will this engine fit straight in or will i need to make some mods ?

it will not go onto the bell housing, you will need to change that for a s11 one or the whole gearbox you will have to mess with the hoses and throtal links, why not go for the right petrol engine? they do turn up on ebay, will do as mutch to the gall as a 2.2d and is a far better engine

it should have a 2 l diesel in it

you'll never find a 2l diesel on Ebay or elsewhere. In any case, it isn't a great engine and you'd be better off getting a post-1980 2286cc petrol.
