Anyone know if these remotes are available anywhere apart from main dealer.
Done my back in twice now hitching up trailers and am looking to invest in a remote control, a 2nd hand one would do as long as the bar code is supplied with it according to my local independant. He quoted £96 for the remote plus 1/2 hour labour to programme.

I saw one on e bay this week, not sure on price though. Make sure it comes with the bar code as it can not be programmed to work without it.

Great for hitching the caravan when you get it going. ;0)

Haven't you blokes got a jockey wheel? Jack the nose of the trailer up on the jockey wheel, reverse the towball under it and lower it on! You don't need fancy suspension or to do your back in surely?

Thiknk its more to do with technique really, the twice I've put my back out, I've given the trailer a litttle lift to help it on its way.
The sencond time though the jockey wheel was somewhere along the motorway!!

Also not that easy with a jockey wheel when recovering a boat from a sandy or shinlgy beach

Ah just want one - coz a'hve no goat one aw rite

I've got one! Bought it with my new Disco 2 way back in 2000 and have never used it!!!
It is still sitting in the door pocket where it was left by the dealer in May 2000. Haven't looked at it so don't know if there is a bar code on it or not and what's more I wouldn't know where to look for it if it is not immediately visible.
I gave up caravanning just after buying the car.

Have you seen those ball type jockey wheels they're great for boat trailers as they don't sink into the sand.
