Security.

Hi all
I recently moved to new house and I just bought a 110 and I have to park on public road away from the house and I'm paranoid some pikey git will see as easy target.any suggestions on security features I heard of pedal locks which I'll buy but wondered if there's any thing I can do with door locks and ignition?also any other ideas id appreciate it as be gutted if it got pinched.

additional deadlocks on the doors... I bought a set of garage door security bolts that now throw a 70mm hardened bolt into the B / C Pillars on all my doors.. cant access flickr from my work pc but will add pics later... only way to easily bypass would be to cut off the door hinges and remove the full door but that will hopefully attract attention

Don't bother changing door locks etc it's a waste of time as the doors can just be unbolted. Although you could argue that it might slow them down a bit . X-eng do a good ( but expensive ) pedal lock. And they also make an ignition barrel guard as well.
There's plenty of other stuff about, your best bet is to look on landywatch there's loads of info on there.

Their barrel lock is excellent , just fit and forget. As is their pedal lock.
Thier gear stick lock is good but a bit fiddely to operate.

Im just going to add as much as is legally allowed to protect mine when its finished.

Not with a blob of weld on the nut and the stainless socket cap filled.....

you will never defeat the determined thief but every little helps deter the opportunist and slow down the expert.....

The landywatch spreadsheet makes interesting reading with the number that had no extra security..... I work on the fact that if the next one down the road is an easier target they will probably take that.....

You are entirely correct, that anything is better than nothing . I just feel that if your making security mods to a defender messing with the doors and locks would be way down on my list. After a dislok ,pedal lock , alarm , tracker , fuel cut off etc

true

it was way down my list as well but i also have all the above and am currently looking at key lockable hydraulic solenoids which i know i've seen somewhere....

and then that just leaves the rabid badger and shotgun cartridge behind the steering wheel centre

The locks in your thread are Enfield bolts. There's a guy on ebay that sells them for £17.50 each and he can sell you as many as you want with matching keys and in left or right handed locks. I use them on my works trucks. I'm about to buy a set of 6 of em in the next couple of weeks.

mine were off ebay from a company called SAS security... £27 a pair all keyed the same.... £17.50 each is a bit steep there are people doing em for less... but very happy with them

after my 90 was nicked and recovered (woop!) I invested in the holy X-Engineering trinity of barrel lock, gear lock and pedal lock. after a few goes the gear lock is a doddle, the pedal lock is very simple too but is a bit of a faff..but then again I defy anyone to be able to break it without rousing me and my dogs and before I get outside..

in short, the X-Engineering stuff is quite a wedge, but not out of reach and it's essential to protect your property. I would recommend it to anyone

Machete weilding midget in cubby box? Bit expensive in the long run without correct maintenance (feeding water etc.) They can be unreliable or turn against you
