Yeah it’s the new plastic Defender I’m referring to. I was after some general advice regarding the disc-lock and any other tips like the faraday case (which some people gave without the snobbery of this not being a traditional Defender). The point about parts being taken is the same for all cars, especially Fiesta’s at the moment so I guess you take your chances on the type of plastic car you buy.As we are talking about the new plastic ones (we really need to banish them to their own forum section so they don't contaminate the proper defender discussions) it is more than just stopping the whole vehicle being stolen you need to worry about. just like the proper ones they are very easy to steal parts from rather than taking the whole vehicle. A friend has just had the spare wheel and his headlights stolen. I do not know of any security devices but more making you aware you can do all you want to stop them stealing the vehicle but you could still come back to parts missing. A bit like when the puma first came out people would come back to no doors and bonnet!

Turn off your comfort access in the settings menu, no codes to scan so no faraday pouch required. Land Rover has just upgraded the security on the defenders with a software upgrade.I’ve just bought one of these faraday bags, thanks for the tip
I feel you have misunderstood my "snobbery" as "snobbery" rather than the playful jibe about buying the wrong defender. It is no different to if you were to venture into the series section of the forum where anyone with a vehicle that is not on cart springs (i also have a series 3 so am allowed to say that) opens themselves up to ridicule for owning the wrong land rover. Heaven forbid you look in the freelander section full of hairdressers with vehicles whose doors fall of when they get wet!
