Hi all

Looking to get a second battery to run my winch etc but don't have the truck to hand and just wondering if any one could tell me the biggest size battery I could fit in the battery tray where the Jack is please mine is a non abs model not sure if that makes and difference or not?

I've got an optima yellow top in as my second battery. I'd say there was plenty of room in there for something a bit bigger possibly but may need the power steering reservoir moving.

Hope that helps. :)

Cheers for that Rob yea helps a lot my plan is to have a yellow top at some point but with fixing all lift winch etc funds are low so looking for a good battery to run for winch for a couple months till funds allow then will upgrade to a yellow top

I have a Numax CXV27MF in my D1 infront of the air filter box. It's 100ahc and costs about £70. 302 x 172 x 220mm heigh. I had to modify the steering fluid bottle bracket and move it slightly to the left. I also have a snorkel that enters the side of the air box as oppose to the front. It was a tight fit but I made it work, even with an ABS 300tdi. 900cca.
