Thought you lot might like an update on the Evoque.

I'm sure some people might like the styling, footballers wives and secondrate celebs come to mind. To me it's just pug ugly. Looks like a puffed up BMW mini with the tiny windows and low roof.

Looking at the wheels and ground clearance it is not obviously aimed at off road, I think the Range Rover concept is dead. They should re-name it Boulevard Rover. They even do a 2 wheel drive version:eek:

The bit you guys are really going to like is the choice of engines.

There is a 2litre 4cylinder, yes that's right 4 cylinder 250ch.
A 2.2litre Diesel 150ch for the 2wd 190 for the 4wd with stop start technologie, great if it stops every time you come to halt in the mud:eek: All lifted from the Gaylander. Looks like it could be FWD with selectable 4wd via a viscous coupling like the Xtrail, not certain about that though:eek::eek::eek:
Not a V8 or 6 in sight.:(:(:(
For me that means the end of the Range Rover as a concept, I'd sooner spend £10K renovating my P38.

On a brighter note, a company called Simtek is about to offer a TDV6 conversion for the P38. I'll get more details and post.:D:D:D

With you on this think it looks bloody horrendous. Good for junior pimps before they graduate to a full blown Black RR Sports with 22s and blue leds under them. :D:D:D

that is truly revolting, how on earth that can be called a landie I don't know but on the plus side if it keeps the company alive that can only be good. :)

I didn't post the interior photo's, they were too small to copy. Might try tomorrow:D

Can't really say i am sat waiting with bated breath. If the inside is anything like the outside it will be a proper none event. To be honest that is the most disgusting thing i have seen in a long time.

The styling I like (under reserve that I see it in the "metal"):) The interior I do not know, but the engine options pathetic:doh: and then a 2x4,:doh: indeed this is NOT a Land Rover anymore.:(

Can`t say I like it either. Seems to be following the styling cues of the BMW X5, heavy back-end and small windows. Order one with a black interior and you`ll need a miner`s lamp. 2 wheel drive? End of an era then, maybe TATA will keep the factories open, but they won`t be producing Real Rangies.... the price of progres??

I hope this is the last pimpmobile land rover try to make. Problem is the americans will probably like it:eek::eek::eek::puke::puke::puke:
As long as the americans are happy:doh::eek::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
The defender replacement better not look like this:eek:
Anyone know when this evoque thing is coming out?
Please tell me we are not going to have a section for it on this forum:eek:

Well I happen to be American , as said, I like the styling (for now) but that's it, :( and for here it is a bit small, hell a Range is already cramped. . .
