Well I am going to compromise and send it off for repair firstly. I got the dam ecu out at last. I powered up the green & yellow wires to move the seat but the 4 torq bolt heads had been rounded off. As I have found so often with this car, everything I have had to try & fix has already been explored unsuccessfully by the PO I presume. I eventually got in by removing the leather covering on the seat base, unclipping the rubber diaphram and that gave me access to the top of the little black plastic fastener which had been holding on to the ecu for 20 years.

Onto the kitchen table and after opening, I could see the familiar corrosion etc as described in other posts caused by the memory battery leaking. Parcelled up and sent off to an expert.

Interestingly, tucked under the ecu was this little card which is not that unusual except for the 2007 date mark which I dont understand. Anyone ?

At last received back repaired ECU and spent time yesterday refitting. Still a PITA to get access from under the seat base diaphram but at least as soon as its plugged in I could move the seat fully forward or back to gain better access for final positioning of the ecu and the 5 connectors.

Only trouble is, I have mirrors all working perfectly, forward and back motion of seat base and back rest but only down the way for the seat base. I have to apply direct 12v to the motor to raise it up although the normal switch will lower it, it wont raise it. It does indicate that the motor etc is fine but using the switch, all I get is a clicking sound. Does that mean the switch is ok also ?

The ECU comes with 2 year warranty but I dont suspect it as something is getting power and clicking. I am very tempted to fit two DPDT switches to take a direct 12v supply to the motors.

Hi,
