so can pick some lovely modern seats up for pretty good money, but I'm very aware that non existent of them are 2 parts seats and most new seats won't help access to battery and ECU. any half decent ideas or swaps?

Just get some fairly small based seats, that have pretty basic mounting positions so you can make a frame to bolt the seat into the original holes, and try to do it so you can easily get to the bolts.

Only a couple minutes to get a seat out, cant see why you'd need to ever want to get it their any quicker

I was rushing and sending it from my iPhone so I wasn't going to bother with grammar and proof reading thanks for your help mate nice one

Rx8 and smart car seats seem a popular choice. My drivers seat is goosed and I'm in a similar predicament, really I'd like to fit some exmoor trim leather seats but then I think it'll just become more attractive to the sticky finger brigade

The battery in mine is quite far forward in my battery box, so if you slide the RX8 seats all the way back you can get to it. Not the perfect solution but a lot easier than taking the seats out. RX8 seats are really cheap (mine were £40 for cloth ones) and fit reasonably easily

They ain't cheap anymore, between 80 ro 150 quid:oops:

Grammar? Proof reading? It was barely even English! It looks as though it written by Chinese 8 year old trying to learn English.

How often do you need to get to the battery and ECU anyway? In 5 years I've had to get to my ECU 3 times, battery a handful more. As for jump starting etc fit some anderson connectors, >£20 problem solved.

So long as you have a battery isolater fitted there shouldn't be a great need to access battery in a hurry, for example if the stater shorts out

I'm with @bankz5152
At first I thought it was a foreign member of LZ, so I'd started to think their English was pretty good, though a bit tricky to interpret! Those iPhones mustn't be very good.

Smart car seats

It's easy to modify them to split bases and they are way more comfy than rx8 seats. Also don't have stupid seat bolsters that are irritating when you get in and out

I'd encourage you to go and have a look at your tratter, and trace the battery cables very carefully, and spot any potential problems, and fix any problems or prevent any harm coming to your cables in the future

Battery isolators are not for disconnecting them if you have a problem with the battery cables, they are for if you some sort of drain like a clock, or radio

or for security purposes

or in motorsport if you have a crash

Which smart car are they out of? The main thing putting me off rx8 seats is the bolster. I bought some scooby seats a while ago and whilst they were really comfy getting in and out was nigh on impossible

No thanks, I'm good
