Seat runners metal question

Hi
I’ve cleaned up the seat runners on the S3 which had tarnished sections but wondering what the ‘coating’ is on the runners which has the slight goldish colour compared to the usual steel colour under it. Is this something that be bought or recoated?

Some sort of electrical anodising I recon.

Thought mine were original black painted, maybe yours nickel plated or if the deluxe seat version gold

Thanks guys, anodised or plated makes a lot of sense. If only they were gold it would help with the rest of the build!

Guess spraying them black would be acceptable then?

Nort sure if you would need a primer, those bits not looked at too much so need some decent paint to make it last, or keep,them same colour as you only see the handle
