Ok, so i had to grind one of my rear floor seatbelt anchor bolts off to get the floor out, just get a new one i thought:doh::doh:

Rang my parts guy, they only come with new belts - WTF?

Anyone what thread they are, i know they must be hight-tensile bolts but aint no way i'm buying new belts!!!

Thanks

Dave

Can only suggest running a tap down to see what size it is.
I got my replacement ones from either LR Parts in Speke or John Craddocks can't remember which but would if they were expensive! They both do mail order if you give 'em a call and ask
If your skills are anything like mine I wouldn't go down the route of welding eye bolts to chassis ;)

what about the clevis pins that hold it to the chassis, did you grind this connection through as well?

No, i just carefully ground the torx head off so i could lift the old panel out. The stub is pretty solid in the underfloor bracket so i got it soaking on the bench at present, i'll probably have to drill the stub out and work the remaining waste out of the captive nut in the bracket.

The other one came undone easy, at least i have a pattern.

I'll try some other parts suppliers.

Sorry talking out me arse if the brackets off can't you just stick it in a vice and use stilsons?? :D

On my 2005 Defender they are M10 flange head bolts - pitch appears standard 1.5mm. Grade 8.8. The hex is 13m. Length varies - some are 25mm.

(I measured one after ordering a number of 7/16 unf bolts and realising they weren't anything like the ones I needed.)

I had the same problem and went into my local supplier and asked for 7/16 NF 20 High tensile 8.8 or grade 5

I got that from search on here and Google. The supplier said "not sure I've got that I think that's the same as........." and I didn't pay attention as to what he gave me sorry but they worked I think I ordered 50mm in length and used the spare as the clevis as it fitted so well

Maybe it's a starting point for an equivalent search

oh 50mm was over length but I couldn't remember so decided it was better to gring off what I didn't need that wish it was longer
