Hi everyone, just reattached the carburettor and manifolds with new gaskets, and it seems like I've got air leaking in somewhere. I can't work out where the leak is so I'm going to take it all off and start again.
Has anyone got any tips for making sure gaskets seal properly?
I've read various things about coating them in grease or soaking them in oil, but there seems to be a fair bit of disagreement.
Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks.

Make sure you've got all the old gasket off back to the metal without scoring the mating surfaces. Check the carb base is flat - they can warp. Ditto the manifold to manifold join. This can be fixed with a sheet of plate glass and some emery paper. Most gaskets I fit on my old landy are smeared with blue Hylomar just to be certain.
