'Scraping' noise from steering wheel whilst turning corners

Since the summer burst forth upon us (and I have been driving with the window down) I have noticed a scrapey, scratchy noise from the o/s/f when I steer left on one of the Freebies. Think it is the disc.

Both have a bit of plasticy scratchy scrapey from the steering wheel/column itself when turning.

99,961 ... big celebration in 39 miles' time!

Cheers

Cheers Guys for all your help, at least I can go to the garage with an armful of possibilities. Spoke with a Landrover dealer who says at 41,000 miles it could be the front brake calipers - yep the dirt and rust thing I expect and the added weight of all that shopping is just makign the noise louder............

(That's put a smile on my old man's face)x

Aww..brings back memories...driving back from Portugal...one eye on the road, the other on the odo....missed the big event by 3 miles for some reason. You look down and hey presto...no longer a big fat zero taking up the start of your milage. Ah happy days...only 50k to go and its a "2"! At this rate should be there by Xmas!:D
