Scotland tips needed

Hey guys -

looking for some tips of places that would be great for a couple of 4x4s in Scotland next year. Just got myself a Disco 2 for the trip and I know that greenlaning isn't really a possibility but hoping the roads are interesting enough in the highlands anyway.....

but it would be nice to do some actual offroading at a few points along the way - pay to play is ok - if anyone can recommend anyway on the west coast, highlands and very top of scotland?

I did the west side of NC 500 in my series two years ago, and also Isle of Skye , ran out of time but wanted to do Isle of Lewis and Harris , it’s all very scenic up there but advise avoid busy months and midges
 
No such thing as green lanes in Scotland but there is the right to roam so you can explore some wild places on foot (or bike). I wouldn’t bother any off roading it’s a waste of time that could be spent driving some spectacular scenery.

Drive the outer Hebrides top to bottom, wild camp on the most beautiful beaches you’ve ever seen - you can thank me later
 
I know once a month there is 4x4adventures company that lets you use your own 4x4 and it has guides to help or they offer instruction in their vehicles. They are usually going around Loch Lomond starting at Cameron house.
 
There was a rest place called morroch I think advertising in the lro. As above don't bother Greenlane as b roads will give you all the challenges needed. Speyside route take the whisky tour from black isles Inverness road out to Huntley Keith till Grampian Sutherland tour another west coast also try Shetland and Orkneys island hopping worthy of a punt in bleak weather :confused:
