It's the inside box YQE000410 that Paul has helpfully illustrated. Land Rover main dealers and parts suppliers have none in stock nation wide and LR can't say when next delivery can be expected. I think this is miserable service of which LR should be ashamed.
I have now managed to source three possible used boxes from breakers. Question is whether they will be any improvement on the present one which has - my dealer says - got damp and corroded.
re Dippypud: rebuilding would be beyond me, and I'm not sure if it is possible because it seems that it is the circuit board that is the problem.
Ahh..., not much help if stock in the spares system is exhausted
My experience of Land Rover's supply chain for DII parts is that, if a part goes out of stock -
1. They'll declare it 'No Longer Available' if they've not sold that many over the years.
2. They source some more stock from the original manufacturer, but in smaller quantities than when the vehicle was in production, so no 'economies of scale', and at todays prices.
3. The original manufacturer is no longer in business, so they have to source parts from a different manufacturer, as above, in small quantities and at todays prices.
So, be prepared for it to be declared obsolete, or the price to jump from the current £260, to a silly amount.
Sourcing a 2nd hand fuse box is a gamble.
There's a fella on eBay who specialises in breaking DIIs, his parts are all checked and of good quality -

He also posts on the D2 Boys Club forum -

His name is Paul and he posts as 'Heathy' - he may be able to help with a good 2nd hand unit.
(it's not me, by the way
)
Rebuilding it isn't really a DIY option, it's far too complicated for that.
