Wheels and an engine usually help, other than that you should be okay in a standard disco, although AT tyres would be beneficial.

Also taking a few trucks there that weekend with L.O.R.D.S. We will be based at Woodgate Farmhouse B&B in West Winterslow. Are the ranges open that weekend? I normally use http://www.mod.uk/DefenceInternet/AboutDefence/WhatWeDo/DefenceEstateandEnvironment/AccessRecreation/SouthWest/SalisburyPlain.htm and ring the number to check if ranges are open but this only gives week in advance notices. Is there a better way to check access / closures?

Evening, having seen the pics on the other salisbury plains outing thread, it gave me a kick up the arse to arrange a weekend on the plains for some of us Essex lads. Been looking over MM where the hell do you start theres so many, so I'm thinking of the ones between Shrewton and Tidworth to start. Is there a weekends worth of good lanes there or would anyone recommend i look else where on the plains. I am not asking for your route overlay just wondering where to get the best weekend. Any comments welcome ( even if it is **** off)

nice one, Hopefully it will be end of march early April, they won't have dried up to much by then. If thats the sort of area i'll start looking at somewhere to stay. Will let you know when we finalise a date.
