working on my mates 110 for its mot last night.

his offside brake was noted as "ineffective"

noticed 2 things.

both his adjusters will turn either way and set the pads to bind on the drum.

then also even with the drum screw removed and the pads backed off.... still not coming off.

tried lube / heat/impact... any further ideas.

Is the drum moving at all, in an off direction?
I'm wondering if the shoes are catching on a lip on the drum.
If so it could be, with the drum that badly worn, that the shoes aren't centred.
If so I'd just get a replacement drum (and probably another for the other side) and a bigger hammer and maybe a chisel.

looks like as i said to him last night .... i can get it off - but not without destroying the drum and i wasnt do that with it sitting at the front of my drive blocking my 3 motors in....... :d

We were not being dumb

Will relay to him.

I couldn't get the drum screw out of mine so I took off the bearings and bits with the drum attached. Might be possible that way.
