search box .. there is info.. you wont get a new one. you can get it recovered , or strip it off, and paint it.

Yep, pull it all out, scrape and pull off the fabric and the crappy foam gunge underneath, get it good and clean and bung on a few coats of bathroom/kitchen emulsion in a matt or silk finish - looks like a new lining until you touch it. Did mine in light steel grey colour, there's a thread on here somewhere with pics

you used **** paint then..
if you do re line it like I did a few months ago, you'll need a min 60" wide liner, try the camper van brigade. dont scrimp on the glue either like I did, thought 2 tins was enough, its sagging again so it'll be a tin o paint when the indian summer kicks in!!!

In the range rover how to section, there's a really good instructable on re trimming a p38, but could be used for almost any car , dopey used like a suede material on the headlining and pillars! Looked fab

I could supply the fabric and adhesive for about a third of that, I've got my fabric here just waiting to take out the head lining.

I haven't even got round to doing mine yet so no way would I offer to fit anyone else's. I need to check prices on adhesive etc but for the fabric and adhesive I would estimate between £80-£100.
Once I get time I'm taking mine out and I'll do a step by step guide if anyone wants to see it.

While you have the headlining out - check sunroofs for any potential leaks. it's a worthwhile job.

It's not the paint, it's the fact that it's painted and not fabric covered! It looks 100% until you touch it and realise it not fabric.

Hi folks, not been on here for a l o n g while but this thread caught my attention as I have recently been fighting with the headlining in my Disco 1.
I toyed with the idea of removing the lining and re-lining it but couldn't be arsed - it's an 18 year old motor that only gets used ocassionally. What I eventually decided to do was to pull back the sagging bits, scrape off the orange foamy crud and then use wall paper paste to re-attach the original lining. Works a treat and I did the whole thing in about an hour. Oh, actually two hours cuz it took about an hour to hoover up all the foam bits afterwards
Only downside is the wife wants the rest of the paste used to wallpaper the living room. D'oh!
