Hi Landy peeps - I've had my 1968 SII Lightweight for 15 years but only just noticed - derr - that the reason the doors need a slam to shut them is that the section of the upper hinges fixed to the doors has to bend slightly around the door frame, causing the part fixed to the bulkhead to bend outwards. It doesn't seem right. Can anyone explain or tell me it's actually normal behaviour, or confirm that a previous owner has fitted duff parts? Any ideas? Ask my blacksmith to put a bend in them? Thanks in advance to anyone bothering to respond.

Might be worth putting a pic of your hinges up to help people comment. Maybe something has bent the hinge in its distant past causing it to do it? My 110 tailgate has a ‘military field repair’ that functions fine but means the right hand catch doesn’t hold it tight when closed.

Hello, I've made the beginner's error of putting my query on two different forums so diluting the responses and having to duplicate replies - I have uploaded a photo to the '101s and Military' Forum with a comment, in a thread with a similar name, and hope you'll kindly go and see them there. Thanks.
