has anybody successfully had their sills repaired? i think only one of mine has gone, but i noticed it this morning while i was trying to remove the plastic cover i noticed one of the clips just pulled out, i stopped removing the cover there! and proded with a screwdriver and noticed it was just crumbling away from the rear jacking point towards the rear arch on the drivers side. apart from complete panels from LR are there any repair panels for these? my other route is either my local welder or LR indie and get them to fabricate it.

yes all this started because i was going to inject the sill cavity and get some rust protection on the outside, unfortunately i was a bit late, my passenger side dosent seem to have gone but i'm getting the guy to check it while he's at it and get some cavity protection in there. the guy i'm using is highly reccomended by my local LR Indie, and has done l322's before for them so should be a good tidy job.

Yes so right.
My old p38 my mate still has 100% reliable since he has had it and no rust....

So the l322 do rust?

Yep they rust, the plastic cover on the sills traps mud & crap which can’t escape and rots the sills, front arches apparently suffer the same, rotting out the brake pipes, that’ll be my next job

Yes the guy doing them is highly recommended by my lr indie, he says a day maybe 2 to do the job, so it’s going in towards end of next month as he’s very busy but he’s repaired sills on many l322’s so knows what he’s up against. Not had a quote it’ll be what it’ll be. But I know it will be a good job.

Hi Kev
Do you weld yourself? Fancy a go? I use cereal packets(empty) and for a patern. Based on where you need to cut back to.
It’s a brill skill to learn . First you become an expert grinder but you soon find you are delivering a very respectable standard.

Good man, eezy peezy Job really once you get a stomach for peeling back the crud.
Just remember to lift the carpets and any wiring nearby.
If the plastic trim doesn't quite fit afterwards just panel beat inwards until it does.

I read a thread where somebody is charging £1000 per side.........of course he wears a mask, as you should when welding and robbing simultaneously !
