I need a new rear propshaft but won't be able to fit it until next weekend. I know I can drive on the front only with the diff lock, but is it OK to do that for a week, ie 5 trips to work, 17 miles each way, up to 60mph?

perfectly fine , it will be slightly more clunkier when clutching ,but thats just the play in diff locking collar so designed for ease of selection, the loads all on one diff which is no issue unless you like wheel spin starts

So this is totally OK on a D1 too? Didn't feel too bad last time I had to do it, but just to be sure.

Make sure your handbrake drum is secured without the prop in place.

Thanks for your help :) however I'm not sure I'll need it as I'm taking a few days off work.

Shame it's not the rear one left on :)
