Runner problems

Hi
I have a bit of trouble with the passenger runner plate on my freelander 1 td4, someone how had it before me welded the bracket on and never painted over it to protect it from rust and now it has fallen off l. Leaving a part bolt sticking out and one bolt which has been ripped out of the body. Is there any suggestions on how I can rectify this as it looks better with the runner plate on it, and don't really want to weld it on. Is the any way I can drill out the old bolts and replace the threads in the bodywork as these are bolts pushed into the chassis.
Any advice would be gratefully received.

It's a Land Rover, so I'd say anything goes.
Can you post a picture? Might get you a bit more help.
Not entirely sure what you mean by runner plate. Side steps/rock sliders?

If you're talking about the running boards bracket rusting through? Then it needs new brackets made or found. Most people can't find the necessary brackets, so just take the running boards off instead.

Take the bloody things off, and you’ll find your trouser legs no longer get mud all over them.

First repair the end on the bracket of the board, then remove the pulled out bolt from the bracket which fits into the inner sill, get a piece of metal welded onto the bracket of the inner sill fixing point so it creates a T bar do all four fixing points, then reattach to the chassis and inner sill at new points but this time you will have two bolts holding the bracket instead of one, link below for fittings.

These were mine after emergency removal a couple of months ago. I could barely believe how bad they'd got in such a short space of time. Note the state of the top right one particularly!

Those stainless brackets look the business @Arctic2 by the way

When I purchased the FL1 it had no side steps so I opted for the stainless steel round bars on the side.
