When fitting the rtc defender damper on a disco how far away from the end of the bar should the bracket be? Just in process of setting mine up

Can measure mine later if it's any help? I take it the drag link is the same on a disco as a defender apart from said bracket?

not sure if there same on the defenders, but its not the drag link one, its been relocated tot he front bar.

standards is good, just in a stupid place for off road hence moving it, and with 33" tyres figured i would try the RTC to see what its like

if it's rtc, then it should be centred out the box shouldn't it?

so if you put your wheel straight, clamp where it sits.

i thought a proper rtc worked in both directions, else it would just be a normal damper.

i've not used one, so i might be wrong!

does it need a prime?

looking at the terrafirma one, it looks like you stick it on, wheels straight so spring is not under pressure and tighten up. if you drive it and it pulls a bit, then undo the spring clamp and move it a bit until it works properly.

Paul, you shoulda just asked dude :)

Anyway yeah it's a couple inch from the drop arm

But the method is this

Fit damper without spring

Turn lock to lock and decide on position for clamp where damper has sufficient travel in both bump and rebound

Then fit spring and clamp, and clamp spring to damper body at Central position

Spring position can be tweaked after driving to fine tune

cheers noisy, will do abit more tweaking tomorrow and remove spring, i think im in a good place with the damper but il find out :)

cheers chaps
