Good morning all.
My 1994 RRC LSE has developed anothe EAS problem. I overhauled the valve block and compressor last year. I also had to replace the ECU as the compressor would not run there was no output at pin 8 for compressor relay.
Anyway went to the car yesterday and it was on its bump stops? Compressor does not run at all, I can just hear a clicking sound every few seconds from the valve block.
I haven't investigated the issue as yet as it pxxxxx me off that much I thought I'd leave it until I've calmed down.
I know the are coils spring kits out there but I want to keep the car as original as possible. So reluctant to go down that route. Oh forgot to mention the car battery which is brand new was absolutely flat? Don’t know whether it’s related?

The flat battery may well be the problem. The compressor will not run if there is a fault present, do you have the EAS diagnostics?
Once sorted, I have found the EAS to be reasonably reliable on my P38's.
If the car is not in regular use, a solar panel and regulator to keep the battery charged might be a good investment.
Your battery may not recover if it is totally flat.

This morning I’ve charged the battery and still no compressor. I don’t have the EAS diagnostics unfortunately I can see the connection for it though. I’ve never seen a connection like that for diagnostics. I’ve got the”absolute beginners guide” from some guy in Australia which has been great for guidance.

I can supply the cable and software for not a lot of cash but not sure what you might have to pay in customs duty.
If you go the the RSW web site, the details to make the cable are there and the software download is free.

The RSW software works for the Classic and the P38, only the connecting cables are different. The P38 EAS ECU will not plug in to the Classic connector.

Yesterday I ran the compressor manually and installed a gauge in port 6 of valve block. Pressure rose to 10 bar in about 8 mins and held for over an hour.
However the car didn’t rise ? I thought it would have? Just a click noise every 2 seconds.

If there is a fault, it will not rise. Likewise if there is a leak. I don't know the Classic but check the valve block exhaust for air escaping which on the P38 would indicate a split diaphragm valve.

Anyone out there know where I can get an EAS diagnostic cable for 1994 RRC LSE ? Datatek suggested RSW. However they don’t supply them anymore. many thanks
 
Best way would be to make an adapter for a standard EAS diagnostic cable. That way you can use the software on Classic & P38.

With my cable, you have to cut off the connector in the car and replace it with a 9 pin D connector which I also supply. This is because the mating half of the connector is no longer available as far as I am aware.
I have no idea how much the import duty if any might be post Brexit but it would not be a lot.
