RR Classic cubby box lid

Someone will know the answer to this i am sure
My RR has a cubby box with a lid that has a shape set into it that looks as if it was made for a 1/2 bottle of whisky
What is the true use of this ,also i am looking for an ordinary lid to replace it with

It was for an optional early mobile phone. those great big ones.

The part number fo the standard lid assembly is MUC9897RUN if u r interested.
