the soft bullbar and the offside wheel arch protectors are now very rough,due I presume to age(14 y.o.) and u.v. rays,has anyone ever tried to smooth them down or build them up?,sandpaper and a coat of satin black??

i think a lot have done the wheel arch protectors, don't know about the A bar,
i am gonna do mine as some have gone rough and some have not, when i get around to it!
 
I had very rough wheel arch protectors. Used 1000 grit sand paper (don't forget to use water) and sanded them down. Far better now. I then used Back to Black applied with a paintbrush. Need to do a couple coats. Doesn't last long, haven't given much thought what to use instead. As for the fist bull bar; mines in great knick, but applied Back to Black and seemed to bring up the colour. Hope that helps
 
Be careful using back to black if your thinking of painting your arches later cos if I remember right its full of silicone and you will never paint successfully over that.

wwuuhh!!,might try a palm sander and be veeeery bloody careful and a squirt of simoniz satin black.:scratching_chin:

My brother is a valeter they use a hot air gun on the blck plastic being gentle and not getting too close moving it across the black brings back the colour, he shown me on a KA front bumper theat had gone grey worked a treat
