first off... I'm new! Going to look at a 1970 2A at the weekend, which is currently fitted with van sides (is that the right term?), but I want to convert to to have windows so I can put some seats in the back (look below!)... so the question is, can I source any sides from a later series or even a defender and fit to the existing roof, or is it best to source a complete new roof?

Seats - the Landy is currently fitted with just 2 seats in the front which I want to ditch and fit with the traditional 2 plus a middle. Can I retro fit defender seats in the front, or do I have to get Series ones? Also, (whilst on the subject of seats) I want to put some seats in the back for the kids but I don't want to fit bench seats as I want proper seat belts (3 point) in the back - what are my options?
 
firstly introduce yourself, secondly I'm not going to answer the first question and thirdly yes a defender one will fit. Look at ambulance seats, I made someone on here some brackets to fit them and they're cheaper than the exmoor ones but still face forward

Should have been faster/done it first ;) that way you don't appear to have one post and be jumping straight in ;)

Don't bother asking about the roof, use an imaginary measuring tape and look at the front windscreen mounts
 
I was trying to be smart and posting 2 threads at the same time... but I guess I failed :(

I'd like to keep the roof ideally as it's in very good condition, just retro-fit some side windows - of which I've found some from a defender and wanted to know it they'd fit the 2a roof. That's all :)
 
Don't 110 CSW sides fit earlier models?

Rather than trying to fit later model seats why not consider upgrading what you currently have (Trakkers, Sam's trim etc).

Well the 2 seats in it at the moment are shot (look like Maestro ones), and I really need to have the option of taking the kids out in it... so I want to switch the front to have 3 seats and then also have 2 fold-downs in the back plus 3 point belts on all seats... I'm not shy at fabricating brackets etc, so any that fit with adjustments needed would be ok.
