Ah. I'm glad that you have posted the two above comments.

I'm really rubbish at wiring, (and I do mean really crap), so I trusted someone else to wire up my front spots to my main beam. Every couple of months the near side spot lamp will stop working, so I have to get someone to sort out the wiring again.

Reading what you have written I'm guessing that the ampage is too much for the main beam switch to handle?
