I'm looking for some roof bars for my disco but most of the motor spares dealers by me only sell them for smaller vehicles.
What is the minimum width I need, I have measured and I think it came to around 60 inches from gutter to gutter but that was only approximate. (I only have rain gutters not rails)
Can anyone suggest where to look for suitable bars in the midlands, (I'm from the Walsall area).
I've looked at Halfords but they want 123 quid for the high foot kit!
Surely there is a cheaper alternative??

Still nearly 120 quid, guessing thats just the price i'll have to pay!!!! Unless there are any other solutions??

Thanks anyway.

Thule ones are ok but will still set yer back over a hundred quid.

Thats what halfords do but the high foot kit is £123.

You might as well go for LR original at those prices.
Got a set years ago, really good.
1480mm gutter to gutter if you need to know.

1480mm? So my 60 inch measurement wasn't far out.

I just saw THESE on ebay, I know they ain't wide enough but would this type fit if I could get a longer bar?? At only £35, even with buying longer bars it would save me a bit of cash.
I know my local car spares dealer has these in for the same price.

I'm not really bothered about looks or load capacity as they will probably only be used once or twice a year then removed so anything will do.

Thanks for the advice so far.

The height required is approx 250mm to clear the rear roof. Any gutter mounted bar system will do but most of the van types are a lot more costly.
Do you have fitted roof rails?

No roof rails fitted.

I have no idea what the height those are on ebay, as for being more expensive £35 is a lot cheaper than the one's I have seen elsewhere. It just depends how much longer bars will cost.

I'll have to find out what height they are.

Nice one, just hope nobody else bids.

Bit far to travel but if I save myself 60-70 quid...........

Thanks.

Just checked and they do, they look nice but still come to £125 with delivery.

Looks like its gonna cost me no matter what unless I can drop on some used ones on ebay.

Thanks for the help guys, I just won THESE on ebay, thanks to nicedayforit for finding them for me.

Looks like I'm having a drive down to Worcester over the next few days.
